Paris- A new species of eel have been found in the darkness of a cave under the sea and the amazing "living fossil" is the same as the eels that inhabit the Earth 200 million years ago, says the biologist told AFP on Wednesday.

The discovery of this strange happened years ago in caves under the sea depth of 35 meters in Palau, the island country in the Western Pacific.

In the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B, the experts said that the ancient eel has few anatomical similarities with modern eel which has 819 species and 19 orders.

In contrast, more strange strange eels have similarities with ancient eels that live in the era when dinosaurs ruled the Earth Mezozoikum.
Similarities that include a large head, shorter body, such as a collar openings in the gills, the tail fin rays, and the jaw called premaxilla.
